Sarah Esther Bolger (born 28 February )[1][2][3] is an Irish actress.

She starred in the films In America (), Stormbreaker (), The Spiderwick Chronicles (), The Moth Diaries (), The Lazarus Effect (), Emelie (), and A Good Woman Is Hard to Find ().

Early life and education

Bolger was born in Dublin to father Derek, a butcher and mother Monica, a housewife.

She grew up in the Southside suburb of Rathfarnham.[1][4] Her younger sister, Emma, also acted and has since pursued academia.[5]

Bolger attended Loreto High School Beaufort from to and took classes at Ann Kavanagh's Young People's Theatre.[6][7]

Career

Bolger starred in In America with her sister, Emma.

From to , she portrayed Princess Mary Tudor in The Tudors.[1] Bolger starred in Stormbreaker alongside Alex Pettyfer.

Sarah bolger movies and tv shows She executed so many Protestants during her reign that she earned the nickname 'Bloody Mary'. There are quite a few clips on youtube, if you don't mind watching bits and pieces from various seasons, though they may not make sense if you don't know the plot line. Her character was great in the Tudors. Dread Central.

She also starred in the film adaptation of the children's novel The Spiderwick Chronicles. She filmed a pilot called Locke & Key.[8]

Bolger guest starred as Princess Aurora in the second, third, and fourth seasons of the fairy tale drama, Once Upon a Time.[9]

Bolger played the female lead role, Umi, in the English version of the Studio Ghibli film From Up on Poppy Hill, and starred as Lucy in As Cool as I Am in In , she made an appearance on TV series, Mixology.[10] Bolger co-starred in David Gelb's thriller film The Lazarus Effect.[11]

In , she starred in the AMC (TV channel) martial arts show Into the Badlands and the Freddie Steinmark biopic My All American.

In , she starred as the title character in the horror film Emelie.

In March , it was reported by Deadline Hollywood that Bolger was to star in the crime-thriller A Good Woman Is Hard to Find directed by Abner Pastoll.[12] Filming completed in December ,[13] with the film released in [14][15]

Other projects

In January , Bolger was selected to be in photographer Kevin Abosch's project "The Face of Ireland"[16] alongside other Irish celebrities including Sinéad O'Connor, Neil Jordan, and Pierce Brosnan.[17]
